Dade City Police Department ALERT

The Dade City Police Department is experiencing a marked increase in burglaries of automobiles. These are occurring in all areas of the City and are occurring at night and in the daytime. We have had burglaries in both business and residential neighborhoods. In many of these the windows are being broken out and some of them the vehicles are unlocked. Purses, cameras, guns, credit/debit cards, cash and other items are being taken. The Police Department has also had several attempted use of the stolen debit cards in local businesses.

These crimes are opportunity driven and when items are left in the vehicle in view they are seen and taken. We would ask that items of value are not left in view in your vehicle and that you ensure that the vehicles are locked.
